Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it may be used, and the limited situations in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Lawrence County Criminal History, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request under its own rules. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you email us, the message may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Data We Gather Automatically

Routine server and analytics logs can record technical facts when a page loads, including:

  • Device IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device class
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time of each request

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic and site use. Analytics can show which pages are visited and where users leave. A browser can reject cookies, though some features may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

Collected technical data supports ordinary site operations.

  • Maintain performance and availability
  • Route a submitted query to the chosen search provider
  • Measure which pages are useful
  • Diagnose errors and security problems
  • Display advertising that may reflect general interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site publishes general directions to Lawrence County offices, Kentucky courts, the Kentucky State Police repository, KDOC, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is controlled by the provider's privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before running a search.

Links to Other Websites

Links can lead to court portals, law enforcement pages, Kentucky agency sites, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's policy governs. Read it before giving personal information.

Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites. That processing occurs on their systems.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be handled by:

  • A search partner processing a query
  • Analytics providers measuring traffic
  • Advertising networks serving ads
  • A government body acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable technical and operational safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, so a breach or interception cannot be ruled out.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Information identified as a minor's will be removed when required.

Your Data Rights

Rights differ by residence and the law that applies. Kentucky public criminal-record access is separately governed by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, and criminal investigative dissemination rules including KRS 17.150. Those laws control government records, not private website analytics. For information held by us, a person may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of available personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion where the law permits
  • Object to or opt out of certain processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may change as services or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted here with its new effective date.

Effective date: July 26, 2026
